so not even going to pretend that i know any of what was said above the progress and dedication for this incredible and i very much appreciate it! anyways found this little thing in the latest version of Xenia with a stock version of Reach...it would appear that the strange stretching during cutscenes and other things is caused by the camera perspective shift from using vehicles such as the Falcon. Hope that is at least somewhat useful, also if we could figure out a way to do some sort of saving, then it is possible to get save files and have access to other levels in the campaign similar to the workaround for Sonic Unleashed when it gets stuck on the main menu. Anyways just jumping onto the Xenia bandwaggon and glad i am, its an awesome project with incredible people, please keep it up!
EDIT: after testing every vehicle in Forge it would appear that the shade turret has a similar problem, the camera is slightly off but the screen only stretches when existing the turret and it only happens for a moment.
also when loading into Winter Contingency it would appear that the text for the mission selection is actually there, which is odd because all of the other text is missing from the game, forge menus are a nightmare to maneuver XD. Anyways ill keep playing around and share whatever findings i may..... well find......
EDIT 2: so... strangely enough the Gauess hog (i doubt that is how that is spelled) also has the screen stretching bug, however this one is interesting... only when using the turret and firing does the effect occur, and it also only lasts a few seconds. it appears that the effect not loading may be apart of the issue somehow as the first time i fired the screen did not stretch, however afterwords every shot has stretched consistently... ill be doing more tests....
EDIT 3: some minor things, the banshee does not leave the trails behind when boosting and the rocket hogs rockets do not have an explosion effect, BTW i wondered if the stretching was due to screen shake but when firing the Scorpion this does not seem to be the case... curious as to what could be causing it then... also if anyone knows how to get gamemodes and maps into reach please let me know as i have a few modded maps from my 360 days that would allow access to vehicles further in the campaign such as the falcon with the turret on the front and so on...
EDIT 4: so on closer inspection (and this should have been obvious) every explosion is missing from the game as far as i can tell, grenades, scorpion shell, even vehicle deaths are all missing explosions... which is hilarious because firing a rocket hog at another warthog and just seeing it bounce around pop apart is just incredible XD
EDIT 5: might as well put everything here... anyways a quick update the game appears to crash every time when exiting forge, audio continues to play for a while after black screen however...
EDIT 6: just some proof of concept for the Falcon theory, this is clearly during a cutscene
